Muthanga National park, 16km east of Sultan's Battery and covering an area of over 350 square kilometers, is a veritable treasure trove of flora and fauna. A protected ecological sanctuary, Muthanga is host to tigers, elephants, Leopard,Great Indian Gaur[Bison], bears, wild boars and a host of other rare species. It also is said to house an incredible variety of life saving medicinal plants and herbs which form an integral part of the ancient medical science of Ayurveda
