Tranquilitree Tree House: A Tree House in Wayanad Built for Two

The Tranquilitree Tree House is a 600 sq ft tree house at Tranquil Resort, built around a living Gul Mohar tree, with a king bed, one ensuite bathroom and a verandah woven from coffee branches. It sleeps two, plus one extra bed. Children under 7 are not permitted, for safety reasons.

The verandah is where most of the stay happens.

What is inside the Tranquilitree Tree House?

The tree house has a king bed, one ensuite bathroom with a shower stall, a well-stocked library and a private verandah built on an interwoven coffee-branch trellis. Floors are silver oak, with neem and kunhi wood panelling.

What can be seen from the verandah?

The forest floor below is busy with mongoose and barking deer. The Giant Malabar Squirrel visits, and so does the resident troop of Bonnet Macaques. Over 130 bird species have been recorded across the estate, and the canopy here sits inside the densest part of that range.

Guests are asked not to leave food or fruit out on the verandah, which keeps the macaques at a distance.

Who does it suit?

The Tranquilitree is the couples' tree house at Tranquil Resort. It is built around a single Gul Mohar tree and sized for two, with one extra bed available.

Families with children take the Serenetree Tree Villa instead, which is 1,100 sq ft with two bathrooms and sleeps four. Children under 7 are not permitted in the Tranquilitree.
